Welcome to the Summer edition of Isis E-News. Isis is growing, following the additional support from the University to invest in patenting Oxford technologies and grow the business.We are clearly focussed on our three main activities:

1.  Isis helps Oxford University researchers to commercialise intellectual property arising from their  research: Patenting, Licensing, Spin-out companies

2.  Isis manages Oxford University Consulting which:

  • helps Oxford University researchers to identify and manage consulting opportunities
  • helps clients access experts from Oxford’s world-class, interdisciplinary research base

3. Isis Enterprise provides consulting expertise and advice in technology transfer and innovation management to clients across the public and private sectors around the world.

This edition features our latest technologies available for licensing, and information and commentary on various aspects of university technology transfer.

Isis Results
Isis Innovation, the University of Oxford’s technology transfer company, has announced that sales turnover for University technologies increased by 30 per cent from £3.5 million last year to £4.7 million for the year ending March 2008.


 

Isis Innovation Workshop at UNICO

Meet Isis One of the strengths of Isis project groups is that the staff have experience of both the worlds of academia and industry. Learn more at Who's Who at Isis, for example: Matt Simons, Head of Group, Business Support Group. Matt has held commercially-focused finance roles with technology-based companies including Glaxo Wellcome, Morgan Crucible (M&A transactions) and Fujitsu Siemens Computers (Head of Group Financial Planning & Analysis, and Divisional Finance Director). As Head of Business Support Group within Isis, Matt has responsibility for Finance, Legal and Marketing – focused on supporting the three business groups of Isis, and on developing Isis’s external business relationships. Matt has a first class honours degree in Natural Sciences from Cambridge and is a qualified chartered accountant.
